DNS Lookup
Check the DNS records of any domain — A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SOA, CAA, SRV and reverse DNS — on Cloudflare, Google and Quad9 and on the domain's own nameserver, side by side. See at a glance whether a change has propagated.
How it works
Four answers, compared for you
- Three of the most widely used public resolvers — Cloudflare, Google and Quad9 — are asked at the same time. Each answers from its own cache, which is what most visitors' devices see.
- The domain's own nameserver is asked too. Its answer never comes from a cache, so it shows what the zone says right now.
- The answers are compared for you. When they differ, a recent change is usually still working its way through the caches; when they agree with the authoritative answer, it has arrived.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
- What is a DNS lookup?
- It asks the Domain Name System which records are published for a name: the IP addresses a website lives at, the servers that receive its email, the text records that prove who owns it. This tool asks three public resolvers and the domain's own nameserver, and shows each answer side by side.
- What is DNS propagation?
- DNS does not push changes out. Each resolver keeps an answer for its TTL and only asks again once that runs out, so after a change different resolvers return old and new answers for a while. When every column here agrees with the authoritative one, the change has reached them.
- What does the authoritative column show?
- The answer from one of the domain's own nameservers, which never comes from a cache. It shows what the zone says right now; the resolver columns show what the internet has cached.
- Which resolvers are checked?
- Cloudflare (1.1.1.1), Google Public DNS (8.8.8.8) and Quad9 (9.9.9.9) — three of the most widely used public resolvers — plus the first nameserver listed for the domain's zone.
- Is the DNS lookup free?
- Yes, with no account and no sign-up. Lookups are rate-limited to keep the tool fast for everyone, and each result is reused for a few seconds.
