- Do I have to move my DNS to use a domain here?
- No. An external domain stays hosted at your provider — Cosmoner just stores the record and verifies you own it, which is enough to attach it to an app or an email sender.
- How does verification work?
- You get a TXT record to publish at your DNS provider. Adding it and running the check moves the domain from pending to active. DNS propagation takes time, so retrying a few minutes later is normal rather than a sign something is wrong.
- What does migrating actually change?
- Cosmoner provisions a DNS zone for the domain and returns the nameservers to set at your current registrar. You keep owning the domain there; only the DNS hosting moves.
- Can I see the records of an external domain?
- Yes, as a read-only live lookup. Public DNS cannot enumerate a whole zone, so the apex, common subdomains, and the DMARC name are queried and returned.
- What does a domain cost?
- It depends on the extension. The price for a specific name is shown before checkout, together with the annual renewal price that is set up at the same time.
- Why can I not delete a domain?
- Because something is still using it. A domain with an email configuration, or one attached to an app, has to be released from those first — the guard exists so a live service does not lose its address by accident.
