Web hosting is priced per tier, with two optional add-ons on top: extra storage and longer backup retention.

What a tier fixes
A tier sets what one hosting can use:
- storage
- PHP workers and the memory each request may use
- how many domains you can attach
The tier's monthly price covers all of it, and bandwidth is not metered on any tier. One hosting can serve several websites, so you do not pay per site — they share the tier's limits. The tiers and their limits are listed under Web Hosting, and the setup wizard shows the monthly price beside each one.
Extra storage
If a tier's disk is not enough, add storage in blocks on top of it. Extra storage is chosen when the hosting is created, and is billed as long as the hosting exists.
Backups
Every hosting is backed up nightly, and the shortest retention is included in every tier. Longer retention is priced on the hosting's whole disk, the tier's storage plus any extra storage, counted in started blocks. Choose it when you create the hosting or change it later; a longer retention is charged straight away for the rest of the billing period.
How backups and restores work is covered under Web Hosting.
Changing tiers
Moving to a different tier changes what the hosting costs from that point on. If the hosting keeps backups longer than the included retention, that price follows the new tier's storage.
Deleting a hosting
Deleting stops the billing and credits the unused part of the period, as described under Removing Resources and Credits. Backups are kept for their retention period after a hosting is deleted, and are not billed for in that time.
